DUSTIN BOWEN WINS CHARGER SPECIAL AT ALLEGHENY MOUNTAIN RACEWAY 7/29
The first event of the evening was the Hometown Country 103.9fm-WLMI Chargers for their 20 lap special. Zach Gustafson (Weedville, PA) would take the lead on lap two and hold off the challenges of Sean Carlson (James City, PA) till hard charging Dustin Bowen (Kane, PA) came from the back of the pack to challenge both Carlson and Gustafson. Bowen would take the lead on lap sixteen and hold on to it for his fourth feature win of the season. Gustafson and Sean would run side by side for the remaining four laps with Carlson taking the second position on turn four of the final lap, Gustafson would settle for third with Del Cleer (Kane, PA) and Chuck Himes (Brockway, PA) rounding out the top five. Heat wins went to Bowen and Gustafson.
The second event of the evening was the Zook Motor Inc. Pure Stocks for their 20 lap feature. Dennis Olson (Kane, PA) would take the lead early but wouldn't be able to hold off the charges of hard charging Gary Hepler (Kersey, PA). Hepler would win his first feature win this season. Meanwhile Mark Schweikart (Emporium, PA) and Bradley Curran, Jr (Port Allegany, PA) were battling for second. Schweikart would get second Curran third, Josh Keith (Kane, PA) fourth and Mike Stefano (St Marys, PA) fifth. Heat wins went to Hepler and Bob Alcorn (St Peterburg, PA).
Next out on the track was the Dyne Excavating LLC Mini Stock Feature. David Lowe (Eldred, PA) and Jamie Colwell (Knox, PA) would set the pace for the 20 lap feature. When the green flagged dropped Colwell would take the lead and lead from start to finish. Brett Fields (Brockport, PA) would finish second, Henry Himes (Brockway, PA) third, Lowe fourth and Kyle Colwell (Knox, PA) fifth. Heat wins went to Fields and Himes.
Last race of the evening was the Hometown Country 103.9fm-WLMI Street Stocks for their 20 lap feature event. Mike Asel (Kane, PA) was able to hold off the challenges of Lance Palmer (Eldred, PA) to win his fourth feature of the season. Matt Olson (Kane, PA) would put the pressure on Palmer for second place but was unable to get by leaving Palmer with second, Olson, Matt Palmer (Rixford, PA) and Kane PA's Craig Rex would round out the top five. Heat winners were Rex and M. Palmer.
